" ... achieved by dauntless resolution and unconquerable faith."
In our short 2.5 week journey to Thailand, we had the chance to stop and 'pay our respect' to the Wright brothers... for without them, Angela and I would have (probably) never met. I don't know when our love for the air and space started, but it was nice to walk around the patch of land where the first powered flight took place.

As we were walking through the memorial, we found a letter written by one of the brothers (I'll guess Orville.. it's a 50% chance) to one of his supporter. In this letter, he described his love and passion toward the human flight as a 'disease'... Something that he knew it was considered foolish by the world, but yet something that he could not stop thinking about. They raised majority of their support (if not all) by themselves and worked day and night for their passion.

Of course, we all know the 'rest of the story'... and 30 some years later in 1932, a monument was dedicated in their honor that calls their achievement "conceived by genius, achieved by dauntless resolution and unconquerable faith.'

Well, I am no genius, but boy do I want a faith like that :-)

Crossings

We had the pleasure of visiting the Crossings and Pastor Mark and Monica Nelson in Knoxville, TN. We hadn't seen them... well, pretty much since they married us, but it was so nice to see them, and witness everything that God is doing in their community. We also hit the jackpot this day since we were able to be a witness to 3 baptism as well! How cool is that!?

On thing that Mark told me really stuck in my mind. Apparently someone asked him about how the Church planing is going. When Mark replied to him that he is having a blast, he received the comment of "Either you are totally disillusioned or just not telling me the truth,". [You can read his blog here]

We are not church planters, but I can relate to this question...and we too have gotten comments on how 'nuts' we are. Sure we have had many 'bumps' on our 'plans', but I'm sure we are not disillusioned, and we know we are noy lying when we say that we are having so much fun!!! We just want to thank everyone who has been supporting us, for without your help, we could not have done what we have done... and we are so looking forward to being in Thailand.

Get Ready, Get Set...
On the last days in Maryland, we got to spend some time with our pastor from Living Hope Church.

We had a wonderful time, sharing meal together and our kids had a great time running around. One thing though... his T-shirt...I know it's from a conference on youth and cutting but... doesn't it look like...

. I just couldn't keep staring at it... we actually had to ask if he wore the shirt to church.

Anyway, we packed up and ready to go. Thank you for those who have been praying for our trip. It's really weird to have pretty much everything gone though.

I just looked at my key chain and well... It's so empty...is it really all we own ?

but yet... very freeing.

We'll keep you all updated as we travel here in the U.S., and in Asia.

Dry Run
I have learned in my training that if you want to get a job done right, you got to do some 'dry runs'. We do this when we have proposal presentations, we do this for spacecraft activities.... so I took that model and tried out what our days are going to be like in few days.

I'm sure this is normal mode of vacation for some, but... did I tell you that we have never camped before?

We have ATTEMPTED to camp, but didn't work out... we gave up putting up the tent in the middle of a storm, slept in the car and ... oh , yeah, no body told us that we had to pay the camp ground ! (until the next morning when they woke us up)

It will be very interesting days to come...

Sergio

P.S. So how do you go to the bath room? My daughter told me that I had to dig a hole but I just ran in back to the house...
